Manker E11 Flashlight Review


For a while I’ve been carrying this Manker E11, sent to me by Kathy at GearBest. I like smaller lights and an AA light makes a great small light! Thanks to GearBest for sending me this light for review.

1. pls put the anode (+) towards flashlight head, flashlight won’t work once battery reverse.
2. Manker E11 is similar as Manker T01, it is only power by unprotected 14500 battery.

There are two tint options with this light, a 3D 5000K, and a 1A 6500K tint. Manker does call this a “simple version” of the T01. I’m not sure exactly what that means, but… that’s what they say anyway.

Short Review

This is a great user…. I like it, I like using it – but it’s not a fancy light. That’s ok because it’s a versatile, useful light.

Package and Manual

The E11 arrives in a cardboard box inside a cardboard sleeve.

Build Quality, Disassembly, and Durability

While the E11 is not flashy, it is nicely built. The anodizing has a matte finish that has a nice amount of grip to it. Threads are square cut and well lubed, and also anodized so they screw very well together. So while the matte finish ano doesn’t make it feel in hand like a next-level quality light, the quality is definitely there. The lens has a nice antireflective coating, too.

The reflector has a bit of an orange peel texture.

There’s not really much that isn’t easy to take apart. The bezel unscrews easily.

I like those because it’s harder (I won’t say “impossible”) to get a cell stuck in there. Basically everything but the side switch

which has just a brass button, and the tailcap, which has a nice thick spring. I can’t think of another light that has a screw in reflector like this. I’m sure there are some, but it’s a nice touch – probably adds to heat dissipation very well.

The non-label side

of the E11 is pretty nondescript – you can note the knurling here. Grippy but not aggressive.

Manker says it’s 82mm long and 20mm wide, and weights 39g. This is a good pocket clip size. It’d even go unclipped in a pocket rather nicely in my opinion.


The Manker E11 comes with a clip which is not attached, and a lanyard. There’s no magnet in the tailcap. Installing the clip is typically the first thing I do when I get a light and let me tell you – this is the tightest clip I have ever installed. It’s so tight that I really doubt I’ll be able to get it off. So tight that installing it scuffed the body of the light

That’s kind of too bad because the clip kind of stinks. It is not only tight around the body of the light – it’s also tight as far as retention goes too. So getting the clip all the way down on a pocket isn’t easy (or possible sometimes) and the light sticks up far out of pocket. Furthermore, getting the clip off is too hard to futz with, for deep pocket carry.

The lanyard connects on the tailcap via that little hole. The edges there are a bit sharp in my opinion.

The light will tail stand, and also the button surround keeps the light from rolling (if you don’t have the clip on).


The spec sheet says this light will work with many varieties: NI-MH rechargeable AA, AA Alkaline, Lithium sulfate AA, LiFeAA 14500, Li-ion 14500. That’s versatile. I only have Eneloops and 14500 Liions, so that’s what I used for my testing.

I performed two runtime tests, and the cutoff voltages were as follows: 1.14V (Eneloop), and 2.74V with the Efest 14500 700mAh cell. On the runtime with the 14500, the E11 seems to have stayed at 50ish lumens and might have stayed there indefinitely, but I stopped the test. Thus it appears the E11 has no LVP, and doesn’t even seem to have any soft LVP.

A nice touch for me is that the direction to input the cell is printed on the body near the switch. More subtle might be nicer, but this is good anyway.

I’ll be honest, the picture provided

makes this look a bit confusing. It’s not that hard, and it’s best when played around with a bit.

LED and Beam

The E11 has a Cree XP-L.

There are two options: a Neutral White (3D, 5000k) and a Cool White (1A, 6500K). What I have here is (unfortunately) the 6500k version (normally if NW is an option that’s what I’m going to take). Even so, the beam here is not terribly cool but still not my perfect tint. You can see versus the BLF-348 that it has a twinge of green. It’s not as bad as some other lights I’ve had lately, but it’s there. But the tint is consistent over all the modes – and… if one isn’t comparing it directly to the BLF-348 for example, one might not notice anything off in the tint at all. It’s a fine tint, even for a cool!

The beam profile is great too. Almost TIR-like – the falloff between hotspot and spill is nicely gradual (which is one of the things I like most about TIR). So this beam profile is probably the best of both world.

Beamshots, Runtime, and Lux Measurements

A quick note about this runtime.

Well a few notes. Don’t compare the 14500 to the AA – those test were in different conditions so the outputs aren’t relative to each other. I’m working on a setup that will give me better data here… sorry for that. If you consider the candela between the two (3882.4 for 14500, and 2592.5 for AA), you can see that the output is really quite different, and that 14500 outperforms the AA for total lumen output by quite a lot. I will figure out a better way to display this, but it may take me a bit.

Random Comparisons and Competitive Options….

There are a number of versions of the Armytek Prime/Partner A1 which directly compete with this Manker E11. Armytek makes great lights, but the Manker E11 gets the edge in output and price.


What I like

  • Side click is great
  • Tint is good [enough] (I bet the 5000K is great)
  • High lumen output
  • Beam profile is great
  • Button is easy to find without looking

What I don’t like

  • Clip is much too tight (both on the body and clipped to pocket)

Final Thoughts

I like this little light – I’m a sucker for the smaller lights. The clip being how it is, I doubt I’ll actually carry this light much, but it’s great for a tucked away place, or maybe as a leave-in-car light with an Eneloop.
