Preface
LiionWholesale sent a couple of their new cells for some testing. This is the new Samsung 50e, a 21700 li-ion cell. It’s rated for 10A continuous discharge. Read on for performance graphs!

Price
You can buy the Samsung INR21700-50E at LiionWholesale. They’re $10.99 each at the time of this review, and volume discounts are available!
Short Review
These are good high capacity, low drain 21700 cells.
Long Review
Package
These cells ship in individual cardboard boxes.
But they ship with a plastic 2-up carrying case.
The case is specific for 21700 sized cells, and fits them perfectly.
Build Quality
Not a ton to say about the build quality of these cells, except that it’s exactly like it should be. The wrapper is perfectly centered and there are no bulges on the ends. Just right.
The wrapper is blue, and there’s a little white rim around the positive terminal.
The positive terminal is a 3-prong design.
Size
The width is 20.25mm and the length is 70.8mm.
Much bigger than an 18650 (GA, seen below).
Testing
I’ve tried to keep the scales similar, so over time the charts will be generally comparable.

Bounce
This is a new section, and I added it just because I think it’s interesting. “Bounce back” is what the cell voltage does when the cell rests after a discharge. Interestingly, after heavy discharge rates, the cell bounces back higher. This corresponds to a discharge amount of less energy, and does mean that there’s energy left in the cell. So if I selected the cell with the highest bounce back (ie the cell that was discharged at the highest current), then discharged it to 2.8V at 0.2A, I’d still find that there was a lot of energy still in the cell.

Conclusion
I think this is a very good cell. It’s only rated to 10A, but in my 10A test during which I logged temperature, the cell just barely even got warm. I think it could handle more (but I don’t think you should buy this cell for handling more). I think you should buy this cell knowing that it can handle the rated 10A easily!
Buy the Samsung INR18650-50E at LiionWholesale!

I hope to finish an Astrolux for tomorrow, and I have a Fun Fund Friday coming up again!
